Tim Kneeland Retires

After a remarkable career spanning decades of dedication and service, we bid farewell to Tim Kneeland, a true pioneer in survival education and outdoor adventure programing.

 

Tim's journey began in 1965 with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam conflict, where he honed his skills as a Survival Instructor, serving in various capacities across the globe. Following his military service, Tim founded the Institute for Survival Education (ISE), Safety Survival Rescue Equipment Company (SSRE), Tim Kneeland & Associates (TK&A), and finally Survival Educators. Over the years, Tim has lectured and taught hundreds of courses to thousands of government, military, and community audiences. Tim has definitely left an indelible mark on the industry. 

 

Throughout his illustrious career, Tim's passion for education and adventure led him to organize countless outdoor events and tours, benefiting numerous charities along the way. His largest was Odyssey 2000, a 20,000 mile bicycle ride around the world for 250 people from Jan 1 to Dec 31, 2000, visiting 43 countries on 6 continents. 

 

During his sixteen years at CAPS, Tim taught nearly 600 FAR 135.331 courses to over 5300 individuals in addition to 225 aviation oriented CPR, AED & First Aid courses  Tim's impact on safety and preparedness is immeasurable. His contributions were recognized by organizations such as the American Lung Association and the Business & Industry Council for Emergency Planning & Preparedness (BICEPP), where he received prestigious awards for his outstanding service.

 

As Tim embarks on this new chapter of his life, we extend our deepest gratitude for his tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to making the world a safer place. Though he may be retiring from his official duties, his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
